Born from wonder.
ORNITHEA was born from the contemplation of birds as a symbol of freedom, serenity and harmony with the living world. Observing their habitats revealed how fragile those ecosystems are. Our answer is the opposite of fast fashion: garments made slowly, worn for years and honest about where they come from.
True luxury is silent, honest and coherent.
The craft
Each collection is produced in small, numbered batches, and some pieces are made only to order. We work with high-quality imported fabrics, European-flax linen and fine cottons, chosen for their drape, their touch and the years they will last. Our garments and accessories carry artisanal details and embroidery, supporting the craft traditions of our region.
The workshop
We sew in a partner workshop in the Valle del Cauca, whose working conditions we verify in person. We know the hands that make each garment, and we say so in its passport.
Made to last
We produce in short runs and to the highest standards of quality, so that each garment lasts for years, while avoiding surplus. We use natural fibres with a lower environmental impact, reuse our offcuts, and our packaging carries FSC® chain-of-custody certification. 1% of every sale protects the birds that inspire each collection.
Sandra Vargas founded ORNITHEA to join two ways of looking at the world: the one of science, which studies how nature shapes the mind and the brain, and the one of photography, which has taken her to seek birds in their habitats across the Americas.
«Every garment ORNITHEA creates is a small act of protection for birds and their ecosystems.»

Purpose
Watching nature awakens a calm attention that restores the mind, what psychology calls soft fascination. ORNITHEA brings that calm to what we wear, and turns it into protection for endangered birds.
NIDOS
Because every nest we protect is a species that endures.
